Guru Purnima

As you walk with the Guru, you walk in the light of Existence, away from the darkness of ignorance. You leave behind all the problems of your life and move towards the peak experiences of life. Devotional worship of the Guru is one of the most touching and elevating features of our Sanatan cultural tradition.
According to Shvetashvatara Upanishad Guru be worshiped in the same manner as the deity - God, to attain all there is to attain on the path of God-realization.The Sanskrit root "Gu" means darkness or ignorance. "Ru" denotes the remover of that darkness. Therefore one who removes darkness of our ignorance is a Guru. Only he who removes our ultimate darkness, known as Maya, and who inspires and guides us on to the path of God-realization is the true Guru. Students also refer to their school teacher or college lecturer as guru. The connotation of the word guru in this case is one who imparts temporal knowledge (Apara Vidya) and is thus accordingly offered respect.
 गुरु ब्रह्मा गुरु विष्णुः गुरु देवो महेश्वराः
गुरु साक्षात् परम ब्रह्म तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमः
Gurubrahma Guruvishnu Gururdevo Maheshwaraha |
Guruhu sakshaat Parambrahman tasmai Shrigurave namaha ||
"The guru is Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva), veneration to the Guru who is Parabrahman manifest."
The second line of the couplet does not literally mean that the Guru becomes Parabrahman - God, rather he is venerated as if God is manifesting through him.
This is subtly illustrated by another famous verse known to all Hindus:

गुरु गोविंद दाऊ खड़े काके लागू पाये बलिहारी गुरु जिनहे गोविंद दियो मिलाये
Guru Govind donu khade, kisko laagu paay,
Balihari Gurudevaki jinhe Govind diyo bataay.
The Guru and Govind -God, are present before me, to whom shall I bow down first? Glory to the Guru since he showed me Govind.

The auspicious moment of Guru Purnima will be held in Satsang Bhawan Malapada, Bara Bazar Kolkata and Sanyas Ashram, Ellis Bridge , Ahmadabad. Our Pujya Gurudev Nirvana Pithadhishwar Acharya Mahamandleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Swami Shri Vishwadevanand ji Maharaj  will give blessing to us.

Shree Yantra

Yantra is a super science that evolved in ancient India. In Sanskrit, the word Yantra comes from Dhatu (root) yam which means holding the essence of an object, while the syllable tra comes from trana which means liberation from bondage. So literally, it means a symbol that enables us to perceive beyond bondage.
Goddess Laxmi is associated with a Yantra known as the Shree Yantra. There are two types of Shree Yantra. One is bhu (earth) and the other is meru (pole). Bhu Yantras are flat while Meru are pyramidal. The Shree Yantra is the symbolic form of all gods and goddess. It is believed that Lord Brahma possessed the Shree Yantra which is a multi-pyramid geometric grid. It’s a structure of nine intertwined triangles and can either be two dimensional or three dimensional. The Shree Yantra is mentioned in Vaastu Shasta as a source of positive energy and the Vedas also mention it as a cosmic zone. The Shree Yantra is regarded as the most auspicious and popular of all Yantras as it is believed that this Yantra generates prosperity through its inner cosmic power. As Laxmi is also known as Shree, the Shree Yantra is also called the Yantra of Laxmi by some Vedic scholars. (quoted from “Hindu beliefs & Rituals”)

Vishwakalyan Sadhanayatan (Shri Yantra Mandir)

Vishwakalyan Sadhanayatan (Shri Yantra Mandir)
We welcome to Vishvakalyan Sadhanayatan (Shri Yantra Mandir) located on the banks of Mother Ganga. We offer a haven for devotees and seekers of all faiths and nationalities. If you’re interested in peace, spiritual practice, seva or pilgrimage, you’ll find yourself at home in our humble ashram. Come join us as we individually and together strive to live life from the heart and in devotion to the Absolute.
Ashram:
Vishvakalyan Sadhanayatan (Shri Yantra Mandir) was founded in 1991 by Nirvana Pithadhishwar Acharya Mahamandleshwar Swami Shri Vishwadevanand ji. Accommodation is available for those who come for spiritual practice, meditation, selfless service, holy pilgrimage and to quench their thirst to know their true Self. Guests are welcome to participate, as they wish, in the various cultural, educational and spiritual activities of the ashram. Rooms are simple and comfortable with modern attached bath and hot water. Being an ashram, the service we provide is basic but hearty and warm. We will do our best to serve you as an honored guest in our humble ashram home. We do not have any charges for rooms or food but we do accept donations according to your means to allow us to continue the work we are doing.
VEGETARIAN MEALS
We provide nutritious sattvic meals prepared in accordance with Ayurvedic principles. We buy produce from the local market and choose organic vegetables whenever possible. We search throughout India to find the best organic rice, grain and pulses. We also serve traditional wild crafted vegetables and delicacies whenever available. The milk is fresh and pure daily from our own cows. Food is prepared using traditional methods such as sun drying and burying in the earth and we have a traditional tandoor. For sacred occasions, such as Shivratri (celebration for Lord Shiva), Navratri (celebration of Durga Mata), and Janamashtami (birthday of Lord Krishna), we make special, delicious and unusual foods following traditional guidelines. We will also help if you choose to do an Indian style fast. We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and afternoon tea.
TEMPLE and GHAT
There is a well-known Shri Yantra Mandir in this Ashram. The ashram has other Temples also around the Shree Yantra Mandir on the banks of the holy river Ganga where daily morning prayers are performed followed by Yagna, the fire ritual. We also do an evening Aarti. Special Pujas, such as Rudrabhishek and Ganga Puja, are conducted from time to time. The Temple houses a Shiva lingam, along with altars to Ganesha, Parvati, Lord Narayan with Laxmi, Surya Narayan (the Sun God), and Hanuman. The ashram celebrates all Hindu festivals as well as spiritual holidays of other faiths. Additionally there are often spontaneous kirtan evenings. Guests are welcome to participate as they wish. Additionally if you want to perform any special Puja, Havan or any of the Sacraments (Sanskaras) for yourself, your family or your ancestors we can organize it for you.
There is also a private bathing Ghat available. Clothing is mandatory and we can explain anything you need to know in order to get the maximum benefit of a snan (dip in the Ganga).
YOGA-MEDITATION HALL and LIBRARY
We have a spacious yoga-meditation hall and yoga classes, based on Patanjali’s teachings, are available upon request. We also provide meditation instruction and guidance if you’re interested. The ashram has its own library that contains ancient and modern books on various topics including the Vedas, spirituality and yoga. Visitors are welcome to browse through the books during their stay.
